Unholy Ghosts by Stacia Kane
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I absolutely love this book. The fact that Chess, our protagonist, is so flawed in a very human way makes this book stand out. Although she is an addict she is not totally ruled by it. She still holds down her job and functions in her everyday life. The addiction is dealt with as a part of her life and not and at no time are we made to feel sorry for her because of it, and this made the whole situation real for me. This story is a roller-coaster of a ride and you feel like you are part of her world. I also really like the fact her personal life is complex and she doesn't really know what she wants or what to do with her feelings really, it makes her all the more believable and likeable. Would I recommend this book... defiantly yes. With this book you step into a world that could exists, that is plausible and complete and one you will want to revisit often.
