One Grave at a Time by Jeaniene Frost
One Grave at a Time by Jeaniene Frost
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
The Blurb
Having narrowly averted an (under)World War, Cat Crawfield wants nothing more than a little downtime with her vampire husband, Bones. Unfortunately, her gift from New Orleans's voodoo queen just keeps on giving - leading to a personal favor that sends them into battle once again, this time against a villainous spirit.
Centuries ago, Heinrich Kramer was a witch hunter. Now, every All Hallows Eve, he take physical form to torture innocent women before burning them alive. This year, however, a determined Cat and Bones must risk all to send him back to the other side of eternity - forever. But one wrong step and they'll be digging their own graves.
My review
I LOVED LOVED LOVED this book!! The series is one of my very favourites and I really look forward to each and every book that comes out. I was not disappointed with this one and I am excited that things were left wide open for the next book. I got to see some of my favourite characters in this one like spade and Ian, I didn't want this one to end because I wanted to know the answers to everything but the next book should be very good as I hope we will find out what is up with Uncle Dons replacement.
The bad guy in this book was fab and I felt connected to him because I studies the Malleus Maleficarum many year ago when I studied Witch Craft or Wicca So I have to say I loved what happened to him and felt he was depicted quite accurately for how I saw him in my imagination. You don't have to read the book prior to this one to get all the plot points but I would encourage you to do so as this one has not all the humour that is in the first few and I think this one is darker but because I know the history I understand why it is a little darker now and I think if this was the first one you had read of cat and Bones I think you might find her maudlin and that wouldn't be fair because Cat is really very funny, well I think so!!

Three Wrong Turns in the Desert (Have Body, Will Guard #1)
Three Wrong Turns in the Desert by Neil S. Plakcy
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
The Blurb
I was so surprised by this book, I thought it was be a bit cheesy and a bit of a romp in the sand. What I got was a smart funny story that took me on a journey around Tunisia that was also a sexy romp in the sand. I loved Liam he was strong and sexy but was not with out a gentle side and Aidan was a real surprise. I loved that he was intelligent and resourceful and that Liam took his ideas and ran with them was great. I will be honest I don't think I will be reading more of this series just because I loved this one and don't want to spoil my experience. I will add a word of warning... this book takes you on a very vivid journey around Tunisia and now I am desperate to go back there.. so be warned you will want to visit the travel agents after reading

How To Discipline Your Vampire by Mina Vaughn
How To Discipline Your Vampire by Mina Vaughn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
The Blurb
In this exciting paranormal erotic romance, a dominant schoolteacher with a serious role-play fetish finds the perfect submissive in an infamous vampire lover.
Cerise Norrell, Type A substitute teacher by day, is ready to quit being a domme. Despite her best intentions, none of her partners can keep up with her scene fetish and attention to detail—let alone her demand that they have a costume and set waiting every afternoon by the time she’s home from school.
Over a dozen potential subs have left her in the past year, but just when Cerise thinks it’s impossible—that she’ll have to go back to vanilla relationships, or be alone forever—she meets William, who wants to make all her fantasies come true. He turns her home into a geisha’s dream apartment, a concert hall with a grand piano (which he uses to play an original composition while wearing a tuxedo), and even rents an abandoned loft for a zombie apocalypse scene—complete with canned goods.
But there’s something strange about William. Well, a lot of strange things. He must be absurdly rich, since he can afford to provide extravagant costumes and props on a daily basis without having to leave work early. He must be insane, since he puts up with Cerise’s over-the-top demands. And most importantly, he doesn’t redden when he’s spanked, and his skin is as cool as satin sheets. When Cerise discovers she’s become dome to the infamous “Chilly Willy,” as he’s known throughout the BDSM urban lore, she begins to find out there’s a whole lot more to her handsome submissive than a creative mind and a hard body.
And when it’s William, ironically, who starts pressing Cerise to give him the kind of commitment she’s never given anyone, it’ll take everything she has to work through her issues, confront her past, and learn to be vulnerable.
My Review
I really enjoyed this story, it was a beautiful and hot tale of 2 people learning to trust and getting over their baggage. I think what I liked the most was that William being a vampire was a non issue it was all about who he and Cerise were and the people they wanted to be. This was a complex and interesting journey they both took each other on. I did spend a lot of the last half of the book waiting for the other shoe to drop as they were just too happy and when it did I felt my heart twist but they way it was resolved was not only satisfying but realistic. I will so be reading more from this author and soon.

Lover At Last (Black Dagger Brotherhood #11)
Lover At Last by J.R. Ward
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
The Blurb
Qhuinn, son of no one, is used to being on his own. Disavowed from his bloodline, shunned by the aristocracy, he has finally found an identity as one of the most brutal fighters in the war against the Lessening Society. But his life is not complete. Even as the prospect of having a family of his own seems to be within reach, he is empty on the inside, his heart given to another....
Blay, after years of unrequited love, has moved on from his feelings for Qhuinn. And it’s about time: The male has found his perfect match in a Chosen female, and they are going to have a young—just as Qhuinn has always wanted for himself. It’s hard to see the new couple together, but building your life around a pipe dream is just a heartbreak waiting to happen. As he’s learned firsthand.
Fate seems to have taken these vampire soldiers in different directions... but as the battle over the race’s throne intensifies, and new players on the scene in Caldwell create mortal danger for the Brotherhood, Qhuinn finally learns the true definition of courage, and two hearts who are meant to be together... finally become one.
My Review
OMG I have waited so long for this one!!!!!!!
And I have to say I am disappointed...The story had so many threads that I got bored of all the jumping around I wanted to know about Quinn and Blay but I really didn't care about the rest. In the end I skipped whole sections of the book.
I am am massive fan of M/M romance so I was stoked and really hoped that J R Wards romance style would translate to the same sex relationship and it just didn't. The sex was hurried and violent there was no foreplay or even care, it begs the question as to whether the author did any research into the mechanics of a M/M sexual relationship. The re were so nice emotional moments between Blay and Quinn but had the intimate relationship been as good the story would been 100% better I think Trez and I.am thing should have been in a separate book it just cluttered this one! I have to say I fear this series is running out of steam and I just hope J R Ward can breathe some life back in it but I doubt it!
