This was a strange book full of horrible people. The sister and the ranch owner were awful people. What was worse Will was a real sweetie and was manhandled by Eli at ever opportunity. Having said that the story grew on me like a creeping fungus. I read it with a morbid fascination as to whether Will would leave and call Eli's bluff. I didn't want to like this novella and I think this will be a marmite book and I am not sure if I liked it or not.
