Mikael Jarvela may only be a half shifter, but that doesn’t mean he can’t be alpha of the eastern Finland farm-turned-sanctuary his father founded. Six wolves, a red fox, a black jaguar, and a lynx all think of him as the head of the family. But Mikael doesn’t have anyone to call his own until he comes across an injured Siberian tiger in the woods.

From the moment the animal recovers and Mikael and Maxim meet face to human face, the attraction between them is undeniable. They strike up a tentative relationship, but they’re both proud men, and their egos keep getting in the way. Just when it looks like their romance is doomed, an outside threat to the family—to Mikael—forces Maxim to choose between the life of solitude he knows and the love and companionship that could be his if he stays.

My Review

OMG this book swept me off my feet and carried to a place I wanted to stay for a very long time.
I loved the world painted and it felt believable because shifter were just like us humans but with a little better senses, which stands to reason as their animal counterparts in the wild have better hearing and sense of smell etc then we do. There was nothing magical about them they were just people with a difference. They didn't heal quicker or have freaky blood and could get sick just like us and this made it a reality I could see as being ours.

There were no fated mates it was all free will and patience. I loved watching these two men fall in love and I loved the family Mikael had created on his farm. I really look forward to reading more from this series and hope that we get Noah's story soon and maybe Larks too, Oh hell who am I kidding I want to read all their stories and soon!!

OK so those who read my reviews regularly will know I am an impatient bugger and often email an authors to find out when the next books is due out. Well i did it again I emailed Tia Fielding to ask about book 2 in this series and this is the reply I got.

Hi Kerry,

I'm so glad you liked it! Can't wait to read your review. I'll keep an eye out for it.

The next part (which doesn't have a title right now, because the working title was taken... damn it :D) is going to be out in September and it's Noah's story.

A man from his past suddenly appears and... things happen. ;)

Before book 2, I'll have a vampire novel out on the 20th, so in case you're interested in my take on vampires too, you might want to check it out. :)

Thank you for your message, by the way. Totally made my morning. ^^

And in answer to her question..... Oh yes I will be taking on her vampire too!!!
