Caldwell, NY, has long been the battleground for the battleground for the vampires and their enemies, the Lessening Society.

It’s also where Rehvenge has staked out his turf as a drug lord and notorious nightclub that caters to the rich and heavily armed. His shadowy reputation is exactly why he’s approached to kill Wrath, the Blind King, and leader of the Brotherhood.

Rehvenge has always kept his distance from the Brotherhood, even though his sister is married to a member. Because he’s a sympath, his identity is a deadly secret- the revelation of which will result in his banishment to a colony for sociopaths.

And as plots within and outside the Brotherhood take their toll against Rehvenge, he turns to the only source of light in a darkening world - Elhena, a vampire untouched by the corruption that has its hold on him- and the only thing standing between him and eternal destruction.

My Review

This really should be marked 'did not finish' as I did not finish it but I just have not got the heart to do it.. Now don't get me wrong I am no softy but this is the second time of reading it and I just have found I don't care. This is solely because I know what is coming so I am bored waiting to get to the good bits, and there are lots of good bits but there are also lots of bit that I could just do with out reading again as they don't really float my boat.
I will admit that I am surprised by this as I was reading this one top get to my favourite book which is Lover Mine, John's story. So now I find myself just thinking I will wait till Qhuinn and Blay story comes out because I have read all the others. The first time I read this book I gave it 5 stars but now it is down to 3 because I cant justify giving more or less. Maybe this is a lesson in not re-reading a whole series when there are 10 books so far. Maybe next time I will just cherry pick the books, yeah that what I am going to do...

So if you have not read this series ignore most of this review because this is a damn good instalment and really is worth reading and if you skip it there will be bits in Lover Mine, the next book, you wont understand. I just fell foul of the 'too much of a good thing' curse, sometimes it does not pay to know what is coming!!
